The First Years

Kilde Automation builds machines, and we've been doing so from day one. Our founder, Stanny F. Kilde, began with repairing machines and tools in a small back room at a former cooperative laundry. However, he soon realized that it wasn't repairs but rather the construction of new machines that made good business sense. A few years later, Stanny F. Kilde started building custom machines.

The business quickly gained momentum, evolving over the years into two distinct directions: one focused on the production of wood processing machines, sold globally, while the other specialized in automated handling and processing machines for the steel industry.

Relocation to Ulvevej

Diversifying the business into two areas creating custom machines for wood processing and developing machinery for the steel industry proved to be a successful strategy. The company thrived, and by 1977, the confines of the old cooperative laundry became too restrictive.

Stanny F. Kilde relocated the business to larger facilities on Ulvevej in Skive. Here, optimal conditions were met, and he ensured there was room for business expansion on the premises. In the initial years at Ulvevej, both an administrative building and a design office were constructed. The first assembly hall followed shortly after the move, and expansions have been ongoing since. Today, Kilde Automation comprises six buildings, with the two newest additions completed in 2007 and 2008.

Advancements in Automation

With the technological advancements, automation truly gained momentum in Danish companies. Kilde Automation has been building high-tech machines, even back then, utilizing the technology available at the time. We delivered our first major automation solution to Grundfos, and soon, we expanded our reach to several other prominent companies. One of them was Adtranz, a major train manufacturer, where we supplied a milling machine for undercarriage milling and module-based welding units with automatic welders - the largest being 52 meters.

Today, our automation solutions are present in various industries, including electronics, plastics, medical, machinery, and wind. Our diverse client base includes companies such as Novo Nordisk, Coloplast, Kamstrup, Danfoss, Færch Plast, Grundfos, and Siemens.

Honors and Generational Transition

In 2005, Kilde Automation's founder, Stanny F. Kilde, retired, and new forces were required. The company was sold to Spar Vest Fonden and the Holding Company af 15.04.1999 ApS.

 

2005 was also the year when our founder was honored with 'Den Gyldne Ambolt' (The Golden Anvil), an award given to individuals or companies that have made a special contribution to business policy, employee development, or education. Stanny F. Kilde has left a significant mark on the entire Kilde Automation, and we proudly carry forward the legacy of our founder.

New Opportunities

In April 2022, Kilde Automation was acquired by Bila Group. Our company continues to operate as an independent entity, while simultaneously benefiting from the numerous opportunities that come with being part of Denmark's largest automation house.

Our new owner, Bila Group, is a robust player in a rapidly growing market, and we are proud that they have welcomed us on board. Together with the Bila Group, we can build upon our expertise and knowledge to become a strong Danish player in the expanding industrial automation market. Most importantly, together, we can meet the increasing demands from our customers.
